Find Your Groove This Twixmas
Having rushed around to prepare for Christmas, and in our case had key deadlines for a couple of major projects, we then launch into our Festive traditions. Typically this means considering dividing our time among our complex families, indulging, giving and, of course, having fun! We can find ourselves going straight from one set of stressful activities to another.
So when the relatives go home, we're ready to just collapse. Duvet days, TV box sets and turkey left-overs (if we're lucky enough to not be working). A great antidote to what's gone before, but another extreme. If we're not careful, before we know it, we'll be New Year partying and pushing ourselves into strict resolution regimes and will have missed out on the opportunity of 'Twixmas'.
Between Christmas and New Year is usually a time when the outside world expects little of us. For most, workloads are lower and many workplaces shut down completely. There are fewer people to see and things to do.
Twixmas therefore invites us to pause, to reconnect with what's important to us, to reflect on the year gone by and to set intentions for the one ahead.
Rather than switching off completely, we can to tune into the rest, exercise and nutrition our bodies need. We can find our balance and set our own pace.
Find your unique groove now and you can break the cycle of extremes and create a reference point you can return to whenever needed.
